Every surf paddler is different.
Differences in endurance, power and paddling style make it necessary to offer a full line of paddle models with varying characteristics. Whiskey Stand Up Surf Paddles come in all types of blade widths, shaft flexibilities and grips sizes.
Choice.
Working with wood instead of carbon gives us the ability to offer a wide variety of paddles. We aren’t bound by pre-existing molds. Each board is a blank slate so we can easily modify existing paddles designs or spec out new ideas whenever we want. The result is a constantly evolving line of great paddles based on feedback from the Stand Up Surf Paddle community.

All Whiskey Surf Paddles are handcrafted from sustainably
forested wood, providing an all natural, environmentally responsible product. Wood provides a warmth, beauty and flex not found in other synthetic materials.
Wood has Soul.
As we say in the shop, "
These paddles used to breathe." By using wood, we can produce a level of artistry not possible with carbon. Hang it on the wall when its not in the water and enjoy its beauty on rainy days.

Flex.
We can control the level of flex or stiffness in a paddle by controlling how much fiberglass we use. Some models have shafts without fiberglass -resulting in a shaft with lots of flex. Some models have two full sleeves of glass which creates a much stiffer shaft. Pick the model that's right for you.
Blade width.
Our blades come in varying widths and heights. Long, narrow paddles are much easier to stroke allowing for a higher cadence rate. Short, fat blades give instant, quick bursts of power (but you gotta have the biceps...) Again, you choose the model that's right for you.

Blow.
We are extremely proud to be enrolled in the Windsense program. 100% of our energy is supplied by wind generated electricity. As a small business its tough to pay more for a product or service that can be had at a cheaper price. But its the right thing to do. It costs more but its totally worth it. |
